1958年11月,广东粤剧院成立,我和粤剧著名小武靓少佳开始合作共事。当时,在全国“大跃进”形势推动下,全市粤剧团在广州市文化局领导下,实行“大联合,大调整,大改组”。对一些艺术条件不好,不适宜继续搞粤剧的人员,由市文化局统一安排转业。留在粤剧团的人员,实行全行性评级评薪。各部门(演员、音乐员、舞台工作人员、舞美设计师、编剧和行政人员等)分别定出标兵。接着,各剧团对照标兵、要求各部门工作人员实行自报公议,评级评薪,不留尾巴(后来,被降低工资的人,可以在团内自报公议,保留部纷高工资)。在此基础上,实行全行人员大调整,成立广东粤剧院。粤剧院内分一、二、三、四、五团,原来的粤剧团试验队则改为广东粤剧院实
