Nuclear energy, the energy produced by nuclear fission. Ever since Einstein discovered its great power, the nuclear has always been associated with war and destruction. In 1945, two atomic bombs dropped on Japan caused the death of more than 100,000 people and also changed the course of the war. In the early 1950s, the former Soviet Union, which was in the Cold War, began testing nuclear power generation. In 1954, the world’s first nuclear power plant began operation. Since then, countries that have mastered nuclear technology have launched nuclear energy development. The construction of nuclear power plants has become an important way for some countries to use alternative energy sources. After 50 years of development, at present, there are about 440 nuclear power plants in the world. Nuclear energy provides 16% of the electricity of all human beings. In France, Lithuania and other countries, the proportion of nuclear power generation has reached 80%. In recent years, the rapid development of China’s economy has brought about a huge demand for energy. For the first time, the Chinese people have experienced the energy shortage. Faced with increasingly severe energy difficulties, people invariably turned their attention to nuclear energy, despite the huge investment in building nuclear power plants.
