契苾通,唐大中八年(854)八月九日卒。其墓志撰者柳喜,书丹者李衮。1979年从咸阳市北郊双泉村农民家征集。现存咸阳博物馆。志为正方形,边长82厘米,厚14厘米。志文楷书33行,其中上款3行,下款1行,正文29行,行36字。凡1065字。志石四侧线刻壶门及十二生肖图像。志盖为覆斗形,中部篆书题盖“大唐契苾府君墓志铭”9字。四面斜杀刻四神纹饰。此志1990年收入《咸阳碑石》~①,袝录文及墓志(并盖)拓本照片。1991年此志拓本又收入《隋唐五代墓志汇编》~②。
