1983年12月5日到10日,来自首都和全国各地的新闻工作者、新闻研究和教学人员120余人,汇集在湘江之滨的长沙市,参加由中国社会科学院新闻研究所、首都新闻学会、人民日报报纸研究委员会、新华社新闻研究所、中央人民广播电台政策研究室、湖南省新闻学会、湖南日报七个单位倡议发起的“纪念毛泽东同志诞辰九十周年全国新闻学术讨论会”。与会同志学习、研究了毛泽东同志的新闻理论和实践,结合当前新闻工作的实际情况进行了讨论。他们说:毛泽东同志不仅是中国人民的伟大领袖,而且还是我国无产阶级新闻事业的创始人之一;他的新闻理论观点和他的光辉的新闻实践经验,他培养的无产阶级新闻事业的传统作风,是我们党和国家新闻事业的宝贵
