珠光体可锻铸铁是指金属基体组织主要为珠光体(>70％)的可锻铸铁,珠光体形状有片状和粒状两种。珠光体可锻铸铁是1920年美国首先制造的,由于它具有优良的性能,所以近20多年来在国外(尤其在美国和日本)有很大的发展。珠光体可锻铸铁与用脱碳退火方法制得的白心可锻铸铁的生产方法和金相组织是不同的。以前曾有人称白心可锻铸铁为珠光体可锻铸铁,这是不正确的。因为白心可锻铸铁的组织是不均匀的,并非是珠光体组织。
