在意识形态理论的不断发展中,该概念由原先统治阶级用以控制思想的工具,逐渐转入更为多元、复杂的社会文化领域。而在新中国美术的历史上,历史画这一高度意识形态化的创作形式,也在进入新时期后一度落入低潮并进行着不断的修正和变化。在当下多元文化的大背景下,从宣传主流意识形态的功能上看,这一模式早已不具备特殊历史时期下的那种绝对性、唯一性,而只是众多艺术形式当中的一支。
In the continuous development of ideological theory, this concept gradually transforms itself into the more diverse and complex social and cultural fields by the tools the former ruling class used to control its thinking. In the history of new Chinese art, the highly ideological form of historical painting was also at a low ebb and was constantly revised and changed after it entered the new era. Under the current multicultural background, from the perspective of the function of propagating the mainstream ideology, this model no longer has the absoluteness and uniqueness under special historical periods, but only one of numerous artistic forms.
