With the in-depth development of economic system reform, most of the township enterprises and “funded enterprises” in our city have shown great vitality. However, large and medium-sized enterprises have encountered difficulties, low vitality, and a backlog of products, and many companies have suffered serious losses. In 1992, the number of large and medium-sized enterprises in the city accounted for 8.04% of the total number of industrial enterprises in the city. Staff and workers accounted for 48.85% of the total number of employees in the city, while loss-making enterprises accounted for the total loss of industrial enterprises in the city.
