若从陈独秀一九一五年创办《新青年》算起,五四新文化运动迄今已逾八十个年头了。当年的文化先进们大概想不到,他们的言论在八十年后依然是令人敏感的话题,依然能拨动人们的心弦,使人感情色彩强烈地或是肯定或是否定、或是严厉批判或是坚决维护。这说明,纵然我们一次又一次地宣布要“超越五四”,而实际仍然无法“超越”。或许,这便是当年新文化运动先锋们的伟大之 Starting from the “new youth” founded by Chen Duxiu in 1915, the May Fourth New Culture Movement has been running for more than 80 years now.
