元至清六百余年间,景德镇制瓷业一直有官、民窑之分。官窑拥有制瓷最好的原料、工匠、设备、技艺,不计工本的生产及严格的筛选以供皇宫贵族专用及外销。官窑的制作在漫长的发展过程中,逐渐形成完整的体系,并最终以国家形式的制度得以确定。官窑的制作生产一直以来都有严格的把关,清代“臧窑”“郎窑”“年窑”“唐窑”均是在皇帝的直接授意
