A recent study by Harvard University in the United States points out that daily consumption of fiber-rich foods such as oatmeal, brown rice or corn helps to protect the heart and reduce mortality. According to British media reports, Harvard University conducted a follow-up survey of 100,000 people for more than 14 years. Investigators studied their diet and health status. When the study was started in 1984, the respondents were in good health. At the time of the investigation, 26,000 people died.
