当代公认焊接回转窑的筒体比铆接筒体具有显著的优越性,近廿年来,几乎全采用焊接筒体。而焊接筒体有时焊缝裂纹,有时以电焊修补裂纹后重复开裂,影响窑的安全运转。裂纹原因可涉及焊肉过高、咬边、咬肉、气孔、夹渣及弧坑等缺陷,特别是未熔合的缺陷等产生内应力集中,而有时没有上述缺陷的焊接接头在焊后延迟一段时间以至几星期以后发生裂纹。其原因应考虑焊接冶金过程在焊接力学方面的因素。
