《中华人民共和国母婴保健法》是我国第一部保护妇女儿童健康、提高人口出生素质的法律。它的颁布与实施为广大妇女儿童的身体健康提供了法律保障；有利于进一步落实计划生育国策，提高人口素质；有利于依法加强妇幼卫生工作；顺应了国际社会关注妇女儿童健康的大潮流。《母婴保健法》是符合我国国情、具有中国特色的保护母婴健康的法律。它对于科学、有效地组织妇女儿童的保健活动，规范和加强妇幼卫生工作；维护妇女儿童的合法权益，保证母婴健康，保证计划生育国策的落实和提高民族素质，发展经济、振兴中华、维护国家的国际声誉，均有着非常重大的意义。为保证《母婴保健法》的贯彻实施，一要广泛开展《母婴保健法》的宣传，统一思想。增强全民执法的自觉性；二要积极扶持妇幼卫生事业；三要加强领导，落实部门职责，全方位地贯彻《母婴保健法》。
The Maternal and Child Health Law of the People’s Republic of China is the first law in our country to protect the health of women and children and improve the quality of birth of the population. Its promulgation and implementation provide legal protection for the general health of women and children; it is conducive to the further implementation of the national policy on family planning and the quality of the population; it is also conducive to the strengthening of MCH work in accordance with the law; and is in conformity with the tide of concern to the health of women and children in the international community. Maternal and Child Health Law is a law that is in line with China’s national conditions and has Chinese characteristics for the protection of maternal and child health. It is to scientifically and effectively organize the health activities of women and children, standardize and strengthen the work of maternity and child health, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, ensure the health of mother and child, ensure the implementation of the national policy of family planning and improve the national quality, develop economy, rejuvenate China, The international reputation of the country is of great significance. To ensure the implementation of the Law on Maternal and Infant Health Care, we should extensively publicize the Maternal and Infant Health Law and unify our thinking. Second, we must actively support the cause of maternal and child health; Third, we must strengthen leadership, implement departmental responsibilities and implement the Maternal and Child Health Law in an all-round manner.
