电视电影是一种融合了两种传媒特性的电视节目形态。相对于电影,由于电视电影具有电视传播媒介特性,并因此带来艺术品质上的不同,使得其在本质上区别于电影。之于电视剧,虽然两者同属于电视这个庞大的节目系统,但是电视电影不同于电视剧,最大的区别在于电视电影有着类似于电影那样的精良的制作,“电影性”使得电视电影在传播的过程中,易于观众同电视剧区分开来。电视电影和电影这两种不同的艺术样式,因为媒介差异而风格迥异,也正是因为媒介的影响使得它们找到艺术本体。
