《文白对照全译<资治通鉴>》出版时,在北京召开过一次研讨会。说是研讨,实则醉翁之意皆在信息传播。不过,象这样的文化大举动,功在民族,传播广远亦是理所当然的。书的译者中有几位乃在下大学同窗,故我以朋友和报馆的一员这种双重身份忝列研讨会。我到场一看,除领导、社会贤达济济一堂外,周一良、任继愈张政烺、何兹全、李侃等当今史学界的名流,亦即席而谈。记得当时始终是这些学者先生以《资治通鉴》和古籍令译为题,旁征博引,由古而今,讨论风生。不知为何缘故,其时在会上便存一念:明天见诸报端的消息大概是不会言及学者们的。尽管唱主角的正是他们。结果确乎在意料之中。第二天我翻阅各报。发现大都只有各位领导在会中的行止,而忽略了
