钻孔速度指数(DRI)最初是作为估计轻冲击凿岩机贯穿速度的方法而提出。这一方法在1958～1961年间由挪威科学技术协会(NTH)的Reidar Lien博士提出,以后由O.T.Blindheim修正。
Drilling speed index (DRI) was originally proposed as a method to estimate the penetration speed of a light-impact rock drill. This method was proposed by Dr. Reidar Lien of the Norwegian Association for Science and Technology (NTH) from 1958 to 1961 and later amended by O.T.Blindheim.
