隐喻和转喻在认知语言学里被认为是两种基本的认知机制。这两种认知机制的运作模式分三种情况:第一种情况,在一个短语或句子中隐喻或者转喻单独起作用;第二种情况,这两种工具在认知过程中共同起作用;第三种情况,在一个表达式中转喻起了两次作用。
Metaphor and metonymy are two basic cognitive mechanisms in cognitive linguistics. There are three modes of operation of the two cognitive mechanisms: the first case where metaphors or metonymy work alone in a phrase or sentence; and the second is that both tools work together in the cognitive process In the third case, metonymy functions twice in one expression.
