Four types of lignans fulvic acid (1), 7-epidermatic acid (2), 8-epinic acid and brainic acid have been isolated from six species of genus of fern in Japan and Taiwan. Acid, think that these ingredients contribute to the classification of the genus. This time, five species of New Zealand caterpillars were studied. Dried leaves of Doodia media, B.capense, B.filiforme, B.flu, riatile, and B.discolor collected in Auckland, New Zealand, in August were extracted by refluxing methanol for 6 hours.
