博物馆被称为“既神圣又喧哗现代的空间”。作为博物馆分支的美术馆是一种独特的建筑类型,建筑构造赋予了美术馆意义,同时,建筑从观念到物质条件上决定了参观的条件。它构造了展览的框架,也塑造了参观者的观展经验。美术馆空间已经有200多年的演变历史,随着时代的发展,随着审美取向的变化和建筑技术的发展,美术馆建筑的风格、形式和空间秩序都发生着变化。当代美术馆的空间观念显示出空间设计的依据不再完全服务于展览功能,而是变成为参观者设计的美术馆。
