随着近百年来中国社会的现代化进程 ,以儒家思想为主导的传统伦理道德观已经无力约束当今的社会生活。切实加强道德理想教育和精神文明建设 ,成为当前上下的共识和社会发展的迫切要求。现代文明建设不能脱离本民族深厚的文化背景 ,以科学求实的态度对传统的伦理道德思想进行价值选择 ,将其中蕴涵的积极、进步、合理成分进行新的转化 ,使之与当前急剧转型的社会现实相适应 ,是时代发展的需要 ,也是构建有中国特色的社会主义道德文明的重要内容。具体来说 ,中国传统伦理道德观倡导仁爱和忠恕 ,重视人的自我修养 ,坚持重义轻利 ,鼓励自强不息的奋发向上精神 ,这些都是我们民族传统文化中的思想精华 ,在今天仍有积极的现实意义
