“其”和“他”是古代汉语和现代汉语都用的两个代词。但是随着时间的推移,这两个代词的词性和语法功能,今与古已有了明显的差异。本文略述浅见,以就正于方家。 一 古代汉语“其”是第三人称代词,又是指示代词。第三人称代词“其”有多种用法。 (一)作定语,表示领属关系。这又有几种情况: 1.用在名词前,它所指代的一般是属于第三者身份的人、事、物,例如: ①工欲善其事,必先利其器。(《论语·卫灵公》) ②君欲楚也夫,故作其宫。(《左传·襄公三十一年》) 2.用在数词前,表示“其中之……”,例如:
“Its” and “him” are two pronouns used both in ancient Chinese and in modern Chinese.
