杨苗青:(中共广州市委宣传部副部长)广州市这十年来不断地把自己的文艺创作的成果带到北京来,向首都人民汇报,向首都各位专家请教,这是我们赖以进步的一个重要举措。我们每次来,收获都很大,无论是戏剧、电影、电视、音乐、舞蹈、美术等等,每次都得到在座老师的支持、关怀。所以,我谨代表广州市委市政府、市委宣传部、市文化局在这里向在座各位对广州的关心、帮助、支持表示衷心的感谢。广州近十年来,在改革春风推动下,经济各方面有较大的发展。比如说,广东的国内生产总值占全国九分之一,广东省上交给中央的财税,相当于江苏、山东和福建三省上交财税的总和;又比如说广州市的人口只占全国二百分之一,可是我们对国家作出的贡献占全国上交财税的十八分之一。

Over the past decade in Guangzhou, with the promotion of the spring breeze of reform, there has been a great development in all aspects of the economy. For example, Guangdong’s GDP accounts for one-ninth of the country’s total. The taxes and levies handed over to Guangdong by the central government are equivalent to the sum of taxes and fees turned over by Jiangsu, Shandong and Fujian provinces. For another example, Guangzhou has a population of only two One percent, but our contribution to the country accounted for one-eighteenth of the fiscal and tax turned over by the country.
