矩阵切换器(以下简称矩阵)作为视频监控系统的核心组成部分之一,其基本的功能就是将前端采集的视频图像从输入通道切换到输出通道。矩阵的出现,是因为视频监控系统日益增长的需求与规模扩大,而对视频源的要求也不断增多,显然一对一的显示已力不从心。为了满足多通道视频图像的显示、切换、调看、分配、共享就必须要使用矩阵,一般来说,在大型监控工程中32路以上的电视墙都要使用矩阵,这也是硬盘录像机系统所不能取代的功能。矩阵自诞生开始,就一直没脱离其4U—6U的机架式“黑匣子”外观,其保守而庞大的外观不像硬盘录像机那样具有灵活多变的外观获得民用用户的青睐。矩阵进入我国安防视频监控领域中的应用已有十多年的历史,随着科学技术的不断更新以及市场需求的不断发展,矩阵也在不断的变革和完善,最典型的变化莫过于模拟矩阵到数字矩阵的进化了。
