Geophysical surveys in the Karbin area, eastern Kazakhstan, in the Soviet Union, have demonstrated that natural electric fields affect the extent of gold mineralization. This electric field is formed by a natural source cell. The Carbin Endo gold deposit is classified into three types according to the mineral assemblage and mineralization conditions: gold-sulfide type, gold-quartz-sulfide type and gold-quartz-low sulfide type. Deposits are often located in sand shale, magmatic rock in the second. Gold deposits occur in carboniferous rock development zone. Carbin deposits and mineralization occur in the anomalous edge of the natural electric field, which extends several kilometers wide and 0.2 to 6.5 kilometers wide and varies in intensity from 200 to 600 millivolts. Figure 1a shows the gold-quartz-low sulfide type and the relative position of the deposit to the natural electric field. This deposit
