Quantum cascaded (QC) lasers are permutationally arranged to emit THz rays with two wavelengths at the same time and emit even beyond the supercontinuum spectrum. Now Lucent Bell Labs and Texas A & M University Scientists are studying resonance quadratic nonlinear optical methods in QC lasers, including sum frequency and second harmonic oscillation.
