This article discusses the conventional concentrating equipment to concentrate pulp, and examines the role of additives in concentration and reports the results of a series of flocculation studies. We found that the concentration of pulp after flocculation depends mainly on the interaction between the particles and the rheological properties of the pulp. Research shows that in order to increase the rate of dehydration and the amount of dehydration, one needs to know in detail the operation mode of the settling apparatus and the characteristics of the solid-liquid interface.
