阎力宣,1885年出生在一个封建地主家庭,家里有三四百亩土地,四五十间房子,还有小果园和书房。为人正直、胸怀大志的他早年从北京政法专科学校毕业后,立志步入仕途,为国出力。曾先后在教育部门和交通部门任过科长,后来又在安次县地方上任过职。因看不惯官场上贪赃枉法、尔虞我诈的丑陋,他愤然辞职返乡,过起了闲散的隐居生活。但受过高等教育的他却在时刻观注着国家的前途和命运。
