The prediction of the total amount of mineral resources is a new field in geology that has been developed internationally in the past 30 years. It is to seek the relationship between mineral resources and geological conditions, and then use this relationship to use mathematical geology and electronic computers to estimate the potential amount of resources. Finally, the supply of mineral resources in the future (including the recent and intermediate stages) will be estimated quantitatively. It provides a scientific basis for the formulation of national economic development planning and resource policies by countries or regions. The prediction of the total amount of mineral resources in the world started on a large scale began in the 1970s. In 1975, ISF established Project No. 98 in the International Geological Correlation Program (IGP). Some economically developed countries, especially the United States, the Soviet Union, and Canada, attach great importance to this work and have already made it their national policy to formulate ambitious plans.
