小说的封面与正文相辅相成,封面有助于确立读者对小说的第一印象并在某种程度上决定读者对文本的解读方向。但小说封面不是一成不变的,在再版和改编时编纂者选用不同的封面图片,传递出不同于原版/原作的信息,具有特殊的目的性。本文并非单纯是对《鲁滨孙飘流记》的封面分析,而是将其在不同时期的儿童版中的各个封面图片看作一部儿童文学发展史的某个片段,从叙事空间、视角、场景等方面进行对比和分析,并将其与这些版本的正文文本对笛福小说所作的修正相互印证,试图找出封面变化背后隐藏的人们对该小说、儿童、家庭观念的变化,从而描述一部独特的《鲁滨孙飘流记》的演变史。
The cover and text complement each other. The cover helps to establish the reader’s first impression of the novel and to some extent determines the reader’s direction of reading the text.
