A new design scheme of one-dimensional metal-heterogeneous waveguide array is proposed, which is a metal waveguide array with periodic modulation of waveguide core. The numerical simulation results show that the period modulation of the metal waveguide core leads to periodic modulation of the effective refractive index of the surface plasmon propagating in the waveguide, so that a surface plasmon band gap (for example, around 1550 nm) can be opened in a specific wavelength band. . By introducing a suitable defect waveguide unit, a surface electromagnetic mode resonance of a particular quality factor of wavelength (Q = 556) can be obtained. This result can be used to design sub-wavelength Bragg reflectors, light emitters, filters, etc., which may be used for future integrated optical paths.
