通化市恒星建材研究所,是一个以新产品研发为主的科研单位。创办人郑负自幼聪颖好学,爱动脑筋,乐于钻研难题。1956年以优异成绩考入一机部长春汽丰制造学校,1959年毕业分配至通化钢铁厂工作。1983年,在没有专用设备,没人敢给650轧机进行静平衡校验的情况下,郑负凭借自身积累的知识,冒着风险给650轧机25吨重的大齿轮,进行现场静平衡试验,结果加平衡配重314公斤,使通化钢铁厂这一事故频发的关键设备得以安全平稳运行三年零九个月,为通化钢铁厂当年扭亏和后来发展做出了贡献。
