A study published by the annual meeting of the European Respiratory Society shows that MRI more accurately diagnoses lung cancer than the existing PET-CT. Although PET-CT is currently the gold standard for treatment, new studies show MRI-diffusion-weighted imaging (MR DWI) is more accurate. Even early in the disease, DWI can measure water movement in the lungs and detect structural changes caused by lung cancer. In addition, MRI is also non-invasive and non-radioactive advantages. The study analyzed 50 patients diagnosed with lung cancer or suspected lung cancer by PET-CT and who underwent surgery. These patients underwent MR DWI on the 1st day before surgery. The results of surgery and PET-CT diagnosis showed 33 cases of diagnosis
