4月13至17日,来自全球13个国家的11支极限帆船队和44名顶级帆船运动员,出现在奥帆赛的比赛海域,角逐2011年极限帆船系列赛冠军。国际极限帆船系列赛创办于2007年,是与沃尔沃环球帆船赛、美洲杯帆船赛、世界帆船对抗巡回赛齐名的国际帆联四项特别赛事之一,也是继沃尔沃环球帆船赛、克利伯环球帆船赛后,青岛市引进、承办的又一国际高端帆船赛事。极限帆船,因其昂贵的造价和最高时速能达每小时70公里,被誉为“海上的F1”。
