Bone calcium metabolism during pregnancy and postnatal period is a complex process involving at least three hormones, namely, nidogen, calcitonin and vitamin D. There are not many reports on postpartum calcium metabolism. Animal experiments have reported loss of lactating animal and bone mineral (especially in trabecular bone). There are also reports of osteoporosis and lumbar fractures in breast-feeding medical records. In fact, however, the question of the changes in bone mineral content of healthy women remains unclear. Two-photon absorption and single-photon absorption methods were used to measure the bone calcium content in the middle and distal parts of the lumbar vertebrae and the radius bone of the 19 healthy women on the second day after delivery and six months after delivery. At the same time dietitians to calculate the daily intake of calcium. Twelve women who had been breastfeeding within six months of delivery and seven others, including the discontinuation of breastfeeding within three months, were compared separately. The results of this paper show that women who breastfeed for 6 months significantly reduced their lumbar bone mineral content
