From September to October 1981, Arnason and Waksman of the United States and Dean of Ireland et al. Visited China at the invitation of Professor Huang Jia-yuan, president of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. They discussed the cooperation between scholars of the two countries in the study of demyelinating diseases. Visited Professor Zhao Baoxiu, Department of Neurology, Capital Medical University of Beijing and Professor Chen Hanbai from Institute of Neurology, Huashan Hospital, Shanghai First Medical College, and later visited Hangzhou and Xi’an etc. The British “The Lancet” magazine reported this trip in 1982 , And put forward their own opinions on the future research of multiple sclerosis (MS) .Zhao Baogang and his colleagues reported 256 cases of MS; 9
