戴姆勒入华100年的历史透射出跨国企业融入中国的不屈不挠历程,也反射出中国融入世界艰难曲折的脚步弗朗茨·奥斯特(Franz Oster)1869年生于德国,锁匠出身,后成为德国海军一名船舶工程师。随海军漂到香港后退役,1899年定居青岛成立了自己的船舶修理工厂。奥斯特是一位具有冒险精神的商人。他办厂之外,还从德国引进汽车和飞机出售。1913年,他在青岛设立梅赛德斯-奔驰汽车销售部,销售10/25旅行车,这成为戴姆勒公司进入中国的标志性开始。

In 1913, he set up a Mercedes-Benz car sales department in Qingdao to sell 10/25 station wagon, marking the beginning of Daimler’s entry into China.
