南京军区华山饭店厨师长赵海,给人的第一印象是话不多,谨言慎行,这恐怕与他长期从事军区领导的接待工作有关——少说话,多办事。从1994年进入华山饭店到现在,整整18个年头,赵海将他生命中最宝贵的一段时光,奉献给了餐饮行业。在这18年里,他曾经给国家领导烧过菜,也曾经为军区多位首长提供经年累月的餐饮服务,更多时候面对的是政府的会议用餐、普通市民的婚宴和聚会。在不同的场合,面对千变万化的口味需求,他总能做到游刃有余,从容不迫,表现出了一位厨师极为出色的职业素养。
