对牙本质龋的透明层早有认识,以往认为透明层的产生是由于牙本质小管内充满了晶体沉积物,因而假定此层变硬,并称为硬化牙本质。本文对透明层的超微结构和硬度进行了研究。作者收集150颗新拔除的患龋磨牙,5%戊二醛(pH 7.4,二甲砷酸钠缓冲,4℃)固定2小时,然后用2%氧化锇固定3小时,垂直通过龋损中心将患牙切成二半。选择其中36只具有明显透明层的患牙供本研究。
