表演学是西方人文社科领域的一门新兴学科,它在社会语言学和民俗学等不同学科交织的基础上发展起来,在最广泛的意义上将向他人展现的人类行为视作表演来研究,并试图对其作出阐释。作为一项跨文化交流实践和社会表达活动,翻译的本质也具备表演性。本文简要介绍表演学的相关理论,重点介绍和评述理查·谢克纳等人创立的人类表演学的研究方法,反思翻译研究从中得到的启发,并通过几首闺怨诗翻译的案例分析,说明表演学的相关理论在翻译研究中的实际运用。
