朝阳新村第二小学创建于1989年,是一所城郊老新村配套小学。从1996年起因地制宜,开始实施“以古筝为龙头的民族器乐”特色教育,从一个兴趣班到几个选修社团,再到目前面向全体学生的民乐课程。2010年、2012年、2014年,学校连续获得常州市民乐大赛一等奖;常州市校园整台文艺演出“金蕾奖”;2012年、2014年,荣获江苏省艺术展演二等奖;2014年,民舞《纳喜》获省“五星工程”银奖。学校被
