在陕西的地方曲艺里,带音乐的曲种共有五类(丝弦清曲、说书、道情渔鼓、劝善经韵、踏歌走唱)十二种(陕西曲子、榆林小曲、二人台、陕北说书、洛南静板书、关中劝善、关中道情、韩城秧歌、陕南花鼓、镇巴渔鼓、陕南孝歌、南郑说春)。它们除具有曲艺共有的依字行腔、说唱结合、一人多角、自弹自唱特点外,还有以下几个突出的艺术特色: (一)苫音音阶及独有的旋法特征:在陕西曲艺的许步曲种音乐里(如陕西曲子、关中道情、陕北说书、洛南静板书、关中劝善经韵、韩城秧歌等),均有着一种性格独特的苫音音阶(民间亦称软音),这种音阶是由特殊的音律构成的,它有一个特性音微降 si(↓7),这个音的音高有一定的游移性,介于降si(~b7)和本位si( 7)之间。最常见的调式是微调式,若是五声
