在中央关于“两条腿走路”方针的指导下,1983年,我省三结合集资建校工作,在各级党政领导的支持下,经过广大干群的辛勤努力,战胜了特大水灾所造成的严重困难,取得了丰硕成果。据统计,1983年全省共集资11104.15万元,其中社队群众集资8010.06万元,占集资总额的72.1％。全省共建校舍107369间,计215万平方米,比1982年增长47％,添置课桌凳260449件,也比前年增长84％。阜阳地区、六安地区、宿县地区去年建校舍达万间以上,分别比前年增长1.02倍、1.2倍,0.13倍,其中阜阳地区建校舍40056间,成绩十分突出。全省有35个县一年建校舍千间以上,其中毫县、临泉、太和三县建校舍达5000间以上。去年遭到严重水灾的安庆、宣城、巢湖三个地区仍然保持了前年的建校水平。

The province built a total of 107,369 school buildings, which totaled 2.15 million square meters, an increase of 47% over 1982, and 260449 desks and stools were added, an increase of 84% over the previous year. Fuyang, Lu’an, and Suxian counties built more than 10,000 rooms last year, an increase of 1.02 times, 1.2 times, and 0.13 times respectively over the previous year, among which 40056 were built in the Fuyang area, and the results were outstanding. There are 35 counties in the province that have built more than one thousand school buildings a year. Among them, there are more than 5,000 school buildings in counties in counties, Linquan and Taihe. Last year, the Anqing, Xuancheng, and Chaohu districts, which suffered severe floods, still maintained their schooling levels the previous year.
