The ideal pre-anesthetic medication and route of administration are still being explored, and pre-anesthetic medications are often omitted in pediatric patients because of possible delay in wakefulness. There are many ways to pre-anesthesia medication, such as oral, intramuscular, rectal, etc., but each route has its own shortcomings. Although nasal administration can stimulate nasal mucosa to make children cry, but can avoid the pain caused by injection. It has been reported that the use of midazolam can produce a progressive amnesia, to provide a smooth sedation and reduce anxiety in children separated from their parents, is conducive to induction of anesthesia, but there is no short-term pediatric anesthetic nasal administration of midazolam on wake time Report. This study was conducted to determine the effect of nasal administration of midazolam on wakefulness.
