We have developed a long-term painless monitoring of oxygen intake meter. The system is based on the principle of discharge. The subject masked the helmet from which the aspirator pulled the air out and the servo controlled exhaust fan kept the oxygen concentration constant so that the air flow rate was essentially proportional to the oxygen uptake. The flow rate of the main flow is measured by a flow meter mounted in the suction hose and the oxygen concentration is measured by a flow limiting oxygen sensor. Signals representing flow rates and oxygen concentrations are converted into numbers
