美育是形成学生正确的审美观,培养感受美、鉴赏美和创造美的能力教育。审美素质包括审美观、审美认识、美感、审美情趣和能力等内容。历史教学可以启迪人们的智慧,陶冶人们的情操,化历史人物的嘉言懿行师人表率。在历史教学中,通过对自然美、社会美、劳动美、人物美、艺术美、斗争美、科学美等的认识,培养学生掌握美的知识,发展学生欣赏美、热爱美、创造美的能力,可以全面提高学生的审美素质。因此利用历史教学的美育功能,有目的地进行审美素质教育是全面实施素质教育的需要。
