1978年,郑州铁路分局应用电渗析技术进行机车给水高盐分水质淡化处理,于商邱给水站建成一座中型电渗析水处理设备。电渗析器单台流量20~30吨/时,安装这样大容量的电渗析设备,在铁路上还是第一次。电渗析设备每系列串联2台,总脱盐率60%左右,现已稳定运行三年多。电渗析淡化水供给蒸汽机车使用后,蒸汽质量提高,放水率降低,热能浪费减少,又节水又节煤,并保证了东陇海线机车多拉快跑,安全正点。
