Only a few clinical or biomedical researchers have received formal training in biostatistics. Most readers assume that articles published in journals have been reviewed by reviewers and editors in detail on various aspects of manuscripts, including statistical methods. However, this is not the case. Reviewers of biomedical literature often find that the statistical methods used by about half of the articles are incorrect.
