For archives, the concept of enterprise archives is not created out of thin air. It was established and developed on the basis of scientific and technological archives management practices and theories since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and is in pace with the reform of enterprises. If we do some research on the evolution of the names of “Technology Files” and “Business Files,” it may help us to better understand the development of our enterprise file work. The “Proposal on Improving Files and Information Work” approved by the 57th Plenary Session of the State Council in September 1957 was the first document issued to establish and strengthen the work of scientific and technological archives.
