Over the years, the overrun and accumulation of gas in the corner face of mining face has been a hidden danger to the mine. Considering both safety and economy, we have not got a proper solution so far. Based on the practice and referring to the experience both at home and abroad, this paper presents and discusses the effectiveness and feasibility of using mechanical extraction method to deal with the accumulation of gas in the corner so as to be helpful for accelerating the solution to the gas threat in the corner of mining face. 1.
