把老俄罗斯对于研制大型船用发动机的思想与今天发动机经济性和排气清洁的趋向结合起来,获得到一种稀释燃烧的层状进气发动机(SC)。英国克兰菲尔德(Cranfield)技术研究所正在发展这种发动机。所研究的发动机对生产来说是最便宜的,而且有使用多种燃料的能力。克兰菲尔德工艺学院已经改装了一台标准四缸发动机,相邻的一对汽缸起着混合进气和空气涡流作用。这对汽缸由在机体凹通道加以连接。
Combining the idea of old Russia for the development of large marine engines with the trend of today’s engine economy and exhaust cleanliness, a dilute-combustion stratified charge air induction engine (SC) was obtained. The British Cranfield Institute of Technology is developing this engine. The engines studied are the cheapest for production and have the ability to use multiple fuels. Cranfield College of Technology has retrofitted a standard four-cylinder engine, with adjacent cylinders acting as a mixture of intake and air vortexes.
