天宁山“湖南省沅陵县中等学校”门口左侧,新添了一块白色楠木用红色油漆写的“湘西军区和平解放官员训练班”的牌子。院内,人们三五一群,有的在下棋,有的在清谈,有的在打球,有的在练太极拳,自由自在。“训练班”门口,一位手持铁把冲锋枪的解放军战士,英姿威武,立正站岗。凡进出者,这位战士都是笑脸相迎,举目相送。这是1949年冬,人民民主政权诞生不久。
